Sri Gurubhyo Namaha — Madhwa Dvaita Guru Parampara

Summary

The Sri Gurubhyo Namaha mobile app does not collect, store, or share any personal information about its users. There are no accounts, no logins, no tracking, no advertising, and no analytics SDKs.

1. Who we are

Sri Gurubhyo Namaha is a free devotional reference application covering the 25 Madhwa Mathas, their guru parampara, Haridasa saints, Charama Slokas, daily panchangam, and aradhana dates. It is maintained by an independent devotee and served from srigurubhyonamaha.in.

2. Information the app does NOT collect

• Name, email, phone number, or any contact information.
• Device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, MAC, Android ID).
• Location (GPS, Wi-Fi, or IP-based). Panchangam timings are calculated for a fixed reference location, Bengaluru (12.97°N 77.59°E), hard-coded in the app.
• Contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera.
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioural telemetry.

3. Permissions the app requests

The app declares only two permissions in its Android manifest:

• android.permission.INTERNET — to fetch daily content (mathas, gurus, dasaru, quotes, aradhanas, settings) from our read-only REST API at https://srigurubhyonamaha.in/api/v1.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to detect whether a network connection is available so the app can fall back to bundled offline content when offline.

No other permissions are requested at runtime.

4. Network requests the app makes

• Our own API (srigurubhyonamaha.in/api/v1/*) — anonymous HTTPS GET requests for public content. No authentication tokens, no user identifiers, and no request bodies are sent. Standard web-server access logs record only the requesting IP address, timestamp, and requested path, which are retained on our host for the purpose of operating the service and are not linked to any identity.
• Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com) — the app uses the google_fonts Flutter package to fetch typefaces on first use. These requests are anonymous and governed by Google's own privacy policy.

5. Data stored on your device

The app uses shared_preferences to cache small amounts of non-personal content on the device (e.g. last-seen app settings). No personal data is written to this cache. Uninstalling the app removes this cache.

6. Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

7. Third-party SDKs

The app includes no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking SDKs. The only third-party libraries that make network calls are the Flutter dio HTTP client (to our own API) and google_fonts (to Google's CDN).

8. Security

All network requests are made over HTTPS with modern TLS. The backend stores only public content authored by the maintainer; it does not store any user records.

9. Data deletion

Because the app does not collect personal data, there is nothing to delete on our side. You can remove locally cached content by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the Effective date and Last updated dates at the top will be revised. Significant changes will be announced in the in-app About screen.
